  • The Second Swedish-Egyptian Workshop

    in Sound and Vibration Research

    27 – 29 November 2004, Cairo / Alexandria, Egypt.

     This year, the workshop will be held during three days. The workshop will be organized in the form of several visits to different places of interest to the mutual future cooperation between Ain Shams University (ASU) and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The schedule of the workshop will be as follows:

     

    Day 1: Saturday 27 Nov.

     

    8:30 Start from the hotel.

     

    1. Visit to the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology. This academy is responsible for the management of Egyptian scientific research. It offers different funds for research with cooperation with Europe and the US. It is equivalent to SIDA or Vetenskapsrådet in Sweden.
      They will present to us the activities performed within scientific research in Egypt and the mechanisms of funding.
    2. Visit to Studio Misr. This is one of the biggest locations in the Middle East for movie production. This location has been newly renovated and they reported many problems related to sound insulation and noise control. We will see how they managed to overcome these problems and they will present their future plans which will need some help to overcome the noise problems.

    Full day visit to the Aeronautical Research Center which belongs to the Arab Organization for Industrialization. It performs research in the field of Aeronautics. The detailed schedule will be as follows:

    The Ninth Swedish-Egyptian Workshop in Sound and Vibration Research

    13th - 14th October 2012 Cairo, Egypt

    The Acoustical Society of Egypt announces its annual workshop on Research and Education in Acoustics and Vibration. The workshop is intended to promote Sound and Vibration research and education in Egypt through encouraging cooperation among Egyptian scientists, and with scientists around the globe. The workshop is co-sponsored by the European Commission through the TEMPUS and FP7 programmes as well as the Science & Technology Development Fund (STDF) in Egypt. This year, there will be a special session for junior researchers (M.Sc. and Ph.D. students) conducting research in sound and vibration. For the first time, there will be awards for the best presentations of the young researchers.

    IWAVE 2014

    The Tenth Swedish-Egyptian Workshop in Sound and Vibration Research

    29th – 30th November 2014, Cairo, Egypt.

    The Acoustical Society of Egypt announces its annual workshop on Research and Education in Acoustics and Vibration. The workshop is intended to promote Sound and Vibration research and education in Egypt through encouraging cooperation among Egyptian scientists, and with scientists around the globe. The workshop is co-sponsored by the European Commission through the TEMPUS and FP7 programmes. This year, the workshop is organized in conjunction with a European project: Silent Air Flows in transport, buildings and power generation (FlowAirS). This project is a European Initial Training Network (ITN). The meeting and the training will be held at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. If you are interested in more information or to attend, you are more than welcome. As in the previous three years, there will be a special session for junior researchers (M.Sc. and Ph.D. students) conducting research in sound and vibration. As usual, there will be awards for the best presentations of the young researchers.
