International Workshop on Acoustics and Vibration in Egypt

(IWAVE 2009)

The Seventh Swedish-Egyptian Workshop in Sound and Vibration Research

X3-Noise Aircraft External Noise Network and Coordination

24 – 25 October 2009, Cairo, Egypt

The Acoustical Society of Egypt announces its annual workshop on research and education in acoustics and vibration. The workshop is intended to promote sound and vibration research and education in Egypt through encouraging cooperation among Egyptian scientists, and with scientists around the globe. This year, there will be special sessions on thermoacoustics, noise propagation in ducts, new sensing techniques, virtual reality and aircraft external noise, which is organized within X3-Noise, the European Network of Excellence in this specific field. There will be a dedicated session for young researchers and graduate students. The workshop is sponsored by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI) represented by the Polytechnic University of Madrid. It is also co-sponsored by the Swedish Research Links SIDA. The X3-Noise Coordination Action, through its network structure and comprehensive workplan involving experts groups, scientific workshops, stakeholders seminars and a common information system, addresses the aircraft noise challenges set by the ACARE 2020 Vision.
